July 14 is French National Day
Commemorating the storming of the Bastille on 14th July 1789, Bastille Day takes place on the same date each year. The main event in France is a grand military parade along the Champs-Élysées, attended by the President of the Republic. At night, the celebration continues with fireworks (click HERE for last year’s) and dances either in public spaces or fire halls (click HERE to view Nancy’s Firehall event preparation in 2013).
